Mount Gordo
This former fishing village has become an important seaside resort with a beautiful wide and well-kept sandy beach. The town center offers a large number of shops, and a large number of old fishermen's houses have also been preserved. Fishing is still practiced, albeit to a lesser extent. There are still a few dozen smaller fishing boats on the beach. Monte Gordo has some good fish restaurants. In Monte Gordo is a casino to the boulevard.

Monte Gordo is also known as a favorite destination of various (top) athletes from all over the world. This because of the beautiful paths in the woods between Monte Gordo and Vila Real de Santo Antonio where there is also a beautiful sports complex.

Vila Real de Santo Antonio 

Is a place (freguesia) in the Portuguese municipality Vila Real de Santo Antonio . It is the most southeastern city in the province Algarve and the country of Portugal. On the east side of the city, the river Guadiana, which also forms the border with Spain. From Vila Real de Santo António it is possible to travel both by car and by boat (ferry to Ayamonte) to go across the river. On the south side of the city is a sandy beach of Atlantic Ocean.
